Will Spam Filtering catch all Spam?

No. Our tests have shown that our Spam Filters catch about 98% of all Spam. Our Filters have been designed to offer a high level of spam blocking with a low level of false spam reports.

What is done with the Spam Filtered email?

Mail classified as Spam will be sent to a sub-mailbox named SpamBox under each of your POP email accounts.

Can I see the email that is Filtered?

You may see the mail filtered into your SpamBox by logging into the email control panel.

How long will my SpamBox be available?

The Spam box will be rotated into a Spambox_old box every Sunday. This allows for up to 14 days of filtered mail to be viewed before it is automatically deleted. You may also delete the Spam mail via the email control panel. Keeping your SpamBox emptied assures the best performance of your email account. If a SpamBox reaches 10MB in size (around 1000 messages) it will be deleted to avoid any slowdown of your main mailbox.

Can I edit the spam filtering rules?

Yes. You can edit the existing rules to strengthen or weaken the filtering. You may also add additional rules to further customize your filtering. Please see detailed instructions on how to do this at this link.

Will current email POP accounts and Aliases be recreated?

Yes. The default setup creates a webmaster@ account which has the ability to add POP accounts and Aliases as needed. This is the same way your account was setup when you started your hosting account with Sidetrips. You also have the option of adding additional users when ordering this service. Future users can be added through your IMail control panel.

Will mail messages currently stored in my account(s) be retained?

No. Your filtered email accounts will reside on a different server. You will need to download any email that you have stored if you wish to keep it. Mail left on the old mail server will be deleted.
